Chemical fertilizers degrade soil quality over time, stripping the soil of its natural microbes and nutrients. What is Bug Life?
Wormganix Bug Life is an all natural mixture of dried recycled organic substrate, exoskeletons and larvae castings of the Black Soldier Fly (BSF). It is refined and thermally treated to conform with Eu Regulation 2021/1925. This is UK produced with no chemicals, hormones, gmo’s and no living nasty surprises.
The black soldier fly (Hermetia Illucens) are fed on cleaned pre-consumer waste. Their waste has proven benefits on soil and plant health. These benefits are delivered in a sustainable and natural entocompost that is Bug Life.
The black soldier fly is being farmed to provide a sustainable protein source for livestock, fish and ultimately humans. The true benefits of BSF frass are only just being explored.

Why use Bug Life?
Bug Life contains high concentrations of Nitrogen (N) responsible for plant growth and regeneration, Phosphorous (P)Focuses energy on strong root development and flowers, fruit and seeds, Potassium (K) enhances overall growth and keeps the plant balanced and Healthy. Combined with the healthy mix of trace elements, this makes the perfect natural fertiliser for all plants grown indoors and outdoors.
What makes Bug Life really special is chitin, the naturally discarded exoskeletons within the frass. BSF chitin is the only type of chitin that is digestible by plants.
Once you plant has been exposed to chitin they start to produce a chitinase enzyme. This triggers a defence response in plants against a host of unwanted visitors, pests and diseases. This systemic defence mechanism created by the chitin acts as a natural bio repellent.
How to use Bug Life ?

Can be used exactly as they are, ideal as a slow release fertiliser, To give your plants a more immediate boost the pellets can be pre soaked in an equal amount of water, creating a fertiliser compost that can be used in the traditional way
When used outdoors simply mix onto your soil and fork in. You can also sprinkle pellets around the base of newly-bedded plants. The Bug Life pellets help plants to retain water and add extra nutrients that they need to thrive
One good handful of pellets is approx 50g. As a good rule of thumb try and use a handful per square metre and apply every 3-4 weeks to maintain optimum plant growth and soil conditioning.
When used indoors always top dress where possible -and use sparingly in young plants and do not use whilst propagating ( the nutrient level is too high for seedlings )
As you water your plants you will see the pellets break down and get washed into your existing soil, again as a good rule of thumb re-apply monthly when required and do not re-apply if the existing pellets remain intact on the surface of your compost.
