Whether organic, fair trade or ethically sourced our toys are all suitable from birth, tested to UKCA and CE and machine washable. We have toys suitable for baby hampers and baby gifts up to large dinosaur soft toys. Our production partners share our values and we work with artisans and toy makers in Sri Lanka, Egypt, China, India & Vietnam. NB. we do not allow the sale of our toys on Amazon, Ebay or other third party platforms. Not only do we think that we have the cutest toys around but they are uniquely suited to the needs of young children. Knitted toys bring a tactile quality to baby toys which is great for helping sensory development. They are robust enough to stand up to even the most active of toddler play. And machine washable too! We are small independent company that has been trading since 2001; during this time we have forged strong trading relationships with producer groups located in Nepal and India. Every item we sell is handcrafted by our talented artisans, using traditional weaving, knitting or wet felting techniques. We have small production runs to eliminate as much waste material, where possible we also recycle the materials into other products. Therefore reducing our impact the environment as much as possible. We work with small family run businesses or fair trade cooperatives, that are creating secure employment in an area with little opportunity, especially for women.

Hastshilp is a small family run UK-based business, run by Aadil and Megan. Our bespoke designs are drawn by hand in our UK-based studio, and then sent over to our partner team in India to be brought to life. All our products are handmade in a small town in Northern India, where Aadil is originally from, by a family whose skills have been passed down through generations. Ethical and sustainable practices were important to us right from the beginning, as well as ensuring we were educated on the whole process, from sourcing to production and everything in between. The concept of Hastshilp began when we weren’t able to find many options of rattan home decor pieces for sale in the UK, and almost none that were made in India. Due to a lack of demand and an increase in cheaper machine-made goods, cane craftsmanship is sadly becoming a dying art in India. After generations of hard work, many artisans have been left without a reliable incoME...
